Introductory Display on "The Hong Kong Story" Exhibition

In 1995, when the Government approved the construction of a new Museum of History at Tsim Sha Tsui East, planning work soon began for a new and greatly expanded standing exhibition on "The Hong Kong Story". After six years of painstaking preparatory work, this comprehensive new exhibition on Hong Kong's history will open on 30 August this year.

Through the presentation of text and photographs, this introductory display gives visitors a preliminary picture of the wide-ranging contents of the on-coming exhibition and demonstrates the meticulous research efforts of the Museum's curatorial staff in ensuring authenticity of the exhibits and accompanying material.

Introduction to the Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence

Located at Shau Kei Wan, the Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence is converted from the hundred years' old Lei Yue Mun Fort. It is the first of its kind in featuring the history of Hong Kong's coastal defence and has opened to the public since 25 July 2000.

This exhibition introduces the history of Museum of Coastal Defence, its construction, architectural features, exhibition, Historical Trail, other facilities and services. It is hoped that visitors could have a better understanding of the Museum.
