Exhibition on "Documentary of Child Development – Footprints of Children from the 1930s to 2006"

5/7/2006 – 30/7/2006

1/F Lobby, Hong Kong Museum of History

Jointly organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and the Boys' & Girls' Clubs Association of Hong Kong

The Boys' & Girls' Clubs Association of Hong Kong was founded in 1936, with the Right Rev. R. O. Hall, Bishop of Victoria and the Hon. Dr. R. H. Kotewall as the president and vice-president respectively. The Association was registered as a legal voluntary agency in 1951 and became one of the voluntary agencies subsidized by the Hong Kong Government. In the past 70 years, it has witnessed changes in the political situation, economy, education, culture and social welfare in Hong Kong. Developmental, preventive and remedial services were thus provided to children and youth as well as their parents.

This exhibition is jointly organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and the Boys' & Girls' Clubs Association of Hong Kong. Through texts, photos, exhibits and films, it introduces the historical development and significance of the Association. Visitors can learn more about how the environment attributes to the growth and development of the children and youth.
