Zoetrope, China in the Eyes of Foreign Photographers

Selected episodes from the CCTV documentary series Zoetrope, China in the Eyes of Foreign Photographers. The episodes, which introduce many of the photographs and photographers showcased in this exhibition, give visitors deeper insights into the stories behind the images.

Episode 1: First Images of China
Episode 2: Away from Crisis
Episode 3: The Advent of Photo Studios in China
Episode 4: Unrest in the Late 19th Century

Length of each episode: about 24 minutes
Programme language: English (with Chinese and English subtitles)

The documentary will be screened in the Lecture Hall on the ground floor of the Museum at the following times:
