Discovering History: A Life-wide Experience!
Theme: In Search of the Community and the Past
After decades of development, different communities in Hong Kong have established their own characteristics, which are reflected in the ethnic settlements, architectural features, folk customs, the evolution of specific industries as well as many other aspects.Owing to the differences in the age of the communities and their interaction with the surrounding areas, the historical developments of the communities vary, and each is endowed with unique and impressive attributes. A close and comprehensive study to explore the history of each community will enhance our understanding of their distinctive features, such as the relationship between members in the community, and the relationship between individuals and the community itself. It will also help us to gain a new perspective on the meaning and value of communities, especially when we experience the friendliness and human dimension within them.
