The 10th Inter-school Competition of Project Learning on Hong Kong's History and Culture
* Application deadline and submission deadline now extended
Theme
Religious Belief and Hong Kong's Historical
Development
Hong Kong has always been a city where Eastern and Western cultures
converge, and the development of different religions here also reflects the
changes local society has undergone over the past 100 years. People in Hong
Kong practise Buddhism, Taoism and other teachings passed down through
Chinese culture, the Christian faith associated with Western culture is well
established, Islam arrived from the Middle East, and other important
religions can also be found. In addition to preaching their doctrines and
beliefs, the temples, churches and mosques of these religions are often
engaged in social issues and people's livelihoods, and their development and
growth is closely connected with that of Hong Kong. Studying the history of
these religions and related organisations can help introduce us to the
history of Hong Kong.
