Do you know why China has long been acclaimed as "a nation practicing rites and music"? You can find the answer by visiting our special exhibition "Ancient Chinese Civilization – Treasures of the Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties from Henan Province". On display were exquisite bronze ware and pottery from the Xia dynasty, sacrificial bronze and jade articles excavated from the well-known tomb of Fu Hao at Yin Ruins and a rarely seen bronze building ornament from the Shang dynasty. In addition, a multi-jade pendant with seven huang and a set of 24 bronze bianzhong bells of Zheng state from the Zhou dynasty were also the highlights. With these invaluable artifacts, the exhibition provided a glimpse of various aspects, including the warfare, clothing, food, housing and transportation of the Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties. These artifacts were symbols of the ancient Chinese civilization and also important world cultural heritage. |
