Hong Kong has always been an international city, but many traditional festivals and folk customs are still popular here and play in the people's everyday lives. This exhibition featured photos, texts and a video programme with a view to introducing the unique cultural heritage being developed and retained in the Hong Kong community against the backdrop of Chinese great traditions. Showcasing Hong Kong's colorful intangible heritage, the exhibition gave visitors a glimpse of some traditional festivities, including the lineage "lantern-lighting ceremony", "deities parade" during Tai O's Dragon Boat Festival, the fire dragon dance at Tai Hung, as well as the communal Ta Chiu rituals.
