Coming from Macao from the mid-19th century onwards, the Portuguese people formed one of the earliest foreign communities in Hong Kong.  Through over 250 exhibits from Portuguese families and organisations and over 30 audio-visual and interactive multimedia programmes, the exhibition traces their numerous fields of endeavour and contributions to Hong Kong’s governance, legal sector, business, sporting prowess, botany, defence and security, as well as the city’s leisure and recreational facilities. Also presented are the distinctive traditions and culture of the Hong Kong Portuguese community.
