The Museum is within walking distance of Tsim Sha Tsui, Jordan, Hung Hom or East Tsim Sha Tsui MTR stations. There are also bus and min-bus stops outside the Museum.

|Can I apply for waiver of admission charges?|| |
All registered kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, post-secondary institutions, universities, charitable and non-profit-making organizations with a group of 20 or more; and all registered special schools, non-profit-making organizations of services for the elderly, rehabilitation services and people with disabilities with a group of 10 or more are welcome to apply in writing for waiver of the admission charges. Such application should be made at least 2 weeks before the proposed date of visit.
|Can I take photos inside the galleries?|| |
You are allowed to take photos inside exhibition galleries. However, please do not use flash-light / lighting apparatus or tripods inside the galleries. Video and audio recording are strictly prohibited at all Museum areas. Photo-taking may not be allowed for some special exhibitions.
|How can I access to Museum's reference materials?|| |
Our Resource Centre provides reference books, periodicals and audio-visual materials on Chinese and Hong Kong history, archaeology, ethnography, natural history and museology.
|Are there any activities for the public?|| |
We regularly organize a wide range of education and extension activities for the public, details of which may be referred to the Museum's quarterly Newsletter.
|How can I join the Museum's docent programme?|| |
Currently, we have a team of professional docents providing guided tour services for visitors. We will make announcement on our website and Newsletter when new recruitment programme is to be launched.

|How can the Public make donations to Hong Kong Museum of History? How is the selection process of proposed donations?|| |
If you would like to make a donation of historical object(s) to Hong Kong Museum of History, you could first let us have the basic information such as your name, contact, description of the proposed donation and images of objects etc. via the following ways:
You could also offer your donation in the collection campaigns frequently held by the Museum.
Once we have received the information of the proposed donation, we will table the proposal in our regular Programme Committee Meeting and discuss it from criteria ranging from the Museum's Collection Policy, historical significance and research value of the proposed donation to physical condition of the historical objects in the donation, etc. according to our established mechanism. Our staff members will contact the donor as soon as our decision is made.
The Museum is truly grateful to receive generous support from the Public. For the collection campaign on Children's Life in Hong Kong held in 2012 and 2013, we had acquired more than 3,700 relevant artifacts donated from the generous Public that enriched the Museum's collections.
